Catlin Announces Changes to Asia-Pacific Management Team

HAMILTON, Bermuda – Catlin Group Limited (‘CGL’: London Stock Exchange), the international specialty property/casualty insurer and reinsurer, announces the following reorganisation in the leadership of its Asia-Pacific operations.

 

With effect from 1 May, Mark Newman joined Catlin as Chief Executive Officer of the Asia-Pacific Region and will be based in the Singapore office.  He previously held positions with Guy Carpenter and Marsh and has significant experience in the region, having worked in both Tokyo and Singapore for the past eight years with regional management responsibilities across all business classes.  In his new role, Mark with have management responsibility for Catlin’s operations in Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai and Sydney.

 

Bobby Heerasing will continue as Head of the Group’s Singapore office and will also assume broader regional underwriting responsibilities as the Underwriting Director for Asia-Pacific.

 

Jason Smith will lead the Hong Kong office, succeeding Neil Wray who has recently left Catlin. Jason joined the Group last year as a class underwriter and has significant facultative and treaty reinsurance experience throughout the region. He will be responsible for the Group’s growth plans for North Asia.
