Catlin US Establishes Casualty Facultative Reinsurance Unit

ATLANTA – Catlin Group Limited (‘CGL’; London Stock Exchange), the international specialty property/casualty insurer and reinsurer, announces the addition of Casualty Facultative Reinsurance to its portfolio of products underwritten by Catlin US.

Scott Beall, Director - Casualty Facultative Reinsurance, will direct the design, development and implementation of the Casualty Facultative unit, which is expected to begin underwriting operations during the second quarter of 2009.  The operation will be based in Catlin US’s Atlanta headquarters.

Scott Beall recently joined Catlin after six years with Markel Corporation. Scott has 27 years of insurance industry experience, including 23 specializing in facultative reinsurance.

Catlin's casualty facultative product will be exclusively distributed through the reinsurance intermediary market.
