Cargo

Underwriting Appetite

Catlin underwrites a broad based cargo account which includes the transits of general cargoes and commodities and a carefully selected and controlled number of binding authorities and brokers lineslips.

This is complemented by the speciality areas of satellite pre launch risks, ocean cargo tow risks, project cargo including consequential loss and a certain amount of stock policies written on a primary or an excess basis.

We have the expertise to write large complex cargo risks and the flexibility to underwrite coverage for smaller companies either for single shipments or on an annual basis.

Coverage

Coverage is usually for all risks of physical loss or damage as per the Standard Institute Cargo clauses.
We do, however, have our own bespoke wordings which cater for the more unusual risks.
