Catlin began writing US Healthcare Professional Liability insurance in 1994 and has established itself as a significant lead in the London Market. Catlin currently leads approximately 70% of business written by both premium volume and risk count.

Matthew began his insurance career in 1993 by joining the graduate training scheme at Sedgwick Energy Ltd. After working with a number of teams, Matthew specialised in liability business as a broker. In 1997 Matthew then moved to Cotesworth/HIH syndicate 1688 at Lloyd’s as a deputy liability underwriter.
In 2000 Matthew moved to the newly formed AEGIS energy syndicate as deputy liability underwriter to concentrate on building the Non-Marine liability book. Matthew joined Catlin in February 2003 as class underwriter for the non-marine liability account.

Chris Brooking graduated from The University of Bath with a BSc (Hons) in Politics & Economics. He joined Catlin in 2003, working on the Professional Liability Account. Merle Brown graduated from Manchester University in 1999 with a BA Econ (Hons). After graduating she worked at ERC Frankona as underwriting assistant for the medical malpractice team looking at both international and U.S hospital liability. In 2002 she joined Aon Healthcare Plus broking team as an account handler. After a year, she returned to underwriting as underwriting assistant for the healthcare team at Beazley and in 2004 was promoted to Assistant Underwriter. Daniel Curran graduated from Kent University in Canterbury with a BA (Hons) in Economics and History. He began his insurance career in January 1996 when he joined Wellington Underwriting Agencies as an assistant analyst before joining SBW Insurance Research Ltd (formerly part of the Amlin Group) as an insurance analyst. Dan joined CUAL in 2000 as an assistant underwriter on the Healthcare and Professional Liability account and was promoted to Class Underwriter in 2003. In 2006 he assumed overall responsibility for the Healthcare account.
