Specie

Catlin is one of the largest London-based specie underwriters, both by premium and individual risk capacity.

The Catlin Syndicate has written a specie account since it began underwriting in 1985. A wide range of exposures are covered within the specie account. Our clients encompass private policyholders insuring their private collections of art and jewellery to large corporations and museums, particularly focused on art, jewellery, precious metals and cash risks, both static and transit. The policies provided commonly insure against the risk of physical loss or damage.

Catlin underwrites a truly international specie account. While the London office is the primary source of underwriting, Catlin offices worldwide – particularly Catlin Singapore and Catlin Germany, which have dedicated specie personnel – are able to offer specie terms and issue policies.
