The directors’ and officers’ liability account was established in 2004. Commercial companies are the main constituent of our account although we will consider financial institutions.
We are principally focussed on UK based small and medium-sized companies at a primary level through to FTSE 250 companies. We also underwrite excess positions on FTSE 100 companies' programmes.
Our capabilities also extend to international territories in the EU as well as Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
We underwrite primary business on our leading Catlin 05/05 wording, although we will consider other forms. We have a reputation for underwriting some of the more complex risks in the market, and we specifically tailor wordings to the needs of our insureds.
We like to meet our clients wherever possible to allow us to fully understand their business.
We also have access to databases to allow us to provide
quotations without the need to provide accounts, thus allowing
us to give superior service to brokers.
Underwriter
Julian began his career at broker Stewart Wrightson in London in 1983. He moved into underwriting in 1986 with AIG Europe where he remained for eight years before moving to CIGNA (now Ace) in London in 1994 as one of the founding underwriters of that company's D&O department. He was appointed the UK D&O manager in 1997 and regional D&O manager in 2003. Julian joined Catlin in June 2004 as a class underwriter for UK D&O and Pension Trustees Liability.
