This product provides law firms and their employed or contracted professionals comprehensive protection against malpractice claims, as well as coverage for licensing and disciplinary proceedings.
Product Highlights
- Broad definition of professional services including services as an arbitrator, mediator, notary public, administrator, conservator, receiver, executor, guardian, trustee or any other fiduciary capacity or title agent.
- Broad definition of Insured to include independent contractors and counsels.
- Prior acts/lateral hire coverage for attorneys who are at the firm at the inception date of the first policy issued by Catlin.
- Mutual consent required in the retention of defense counsel.
- Up to $10,000 defense costs for disciplinary proceedings.
- Worldwide coverage – the policy applies to wrongful acts committed anywhere in the world.
- Innocent Insured protection: Knowledge by any Insured of a misrepresentation on the application shall not be imputed to any other individual insured.
- Multiple extended reporting period (tail) options.
- Awareness provision, allows Insured to report incidents which may potentially lead to a claim.
Underwriting Considerations
- Plaintiff class action firms and firms with high concentrations of medical malpractice will be selectively underwritten.
Limits
- Up to $10,000,000.
