Professional Liability

Account commenced underwriting in January 2006. The account focuses solely on North America, our aim is to attract standard business in the traditional professions of lawyers, accountants, insurance brokers, architects and engineers and other “miscellaneous” professional service providers.

We target small to medium sized accounts which is how we differentiate ourselves from the rest of the London market which focuses on larger accounts. 90% of our account is written on a primary basis and 80% of the book is written 100% utilising syndicate security.

Law firms make up the largest segment of the account followed by insurance brokers then A&E/MPL. The account is 100% broker derived, and written principally from the box in Lloyd’s. We currently do not write any binding authorities although we may in the future if suitable opportunities arise. Professional Liability only writes direct business from London brokers.
