In 1984, Catlin Underwriting Agencies Limited was established at Lloyd’s of London, and the following year the group launched underwriting operations with a premium capacity of $10 million (USD). In 2009, Catlin wrote $3.7 billion in premiums.
That’s over 25 years of steady, successful performance. Starting from a single ‘box’ (desk) at Lloyd’s, Catlin has grown to operate a worldwide network of offices. Today, our UK Syndicate – Syndicate 2003 – is the largest at Lloyd’s, based on gross premiums written.
