Since Catlin was established in 1984, the company has experienced steady growth and in the last ten years has expanded globally with offices in every major insurance market.
United Kingdom
In the UK we employ over 800 people across eight offices located around the country. We offer insurance and reinsurance through our Lloyd’s 'Syndicate 2003' and Catlin Insurance Company (UK) Ltd and as such can provide a diverse range of products to companies of all sizes.
As well as our tailored services, the UK business has also begun to offer brokers a number of products for small and medium size enterprises (SMEs), delivered online via specially built quoting engines.
Asia Pacific
Catlin opened its first Asia Pacific office in 1999 in Singapore and we now have underwriting offices in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Australia, as well as representative offices in Japan and India.
Catlin Asia Pacific is the leading Lloyd’s syndicate across the region and our business is characterised by our ability to offer a local service, ensuring clients can always speak to someone in their own language and time zone, and someone who understands the local market and culture.
Bermuda
Bermuda is the corporate headquarters of the Catlin Group. The Bermuda team offers Property and Casualty treaty reinsurance as well as Political Risk insurance lines.
The Bermuda office in Hamilton currently has more than 65 people, working in underwriting, claims, IT, operations and a variety of central functions.
Canada
Formed in 2005, Catlin Canada is one of our fastest growing businesses with offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and Calgary and employing more than 70 people. Product lines include Property, Casualty, Marine, Aviation and Energy.
Europe
The first European office outside the UK opened in Cologne in 2003. Since then the business has rapidly expanded to 11 offices in eight countries: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain and Switzerland. We currently employ over 190 people in Europe, 73 of them underwriters.
In 2010 we also launched the first dedicated reinsurance business, Catlin Re Switzerland, which specialises in Property, Casualty and Specialty reinsurance.
United States & Latin America
Formed in 2006, Catlin US has steadily grown to 17 offices with more than 380 people across the country including New York, Chicago, LA, Houston, Atlanta and Boston. The company offers a wide range of insurance and reinsurance to US clients.
Latin America and the Caribbean form a growing arm of the business, offering reinsurance on specialty reinsurance lines such as Agriculture.
