Hurricane oil rig collapse

What happened?

Several rigs had gone down in a hurricane but there was uncertainty over the extent of cover for clearing the debris. In an effort to resolve the situation, our Energy Claims Manager flew to Houston to find himself immediately embroiled in a complex meeting with the client, brokers, and lawyers

Promising to get back with a position within a week, our manager returned to London the same day. In fact he got back within five days with a resolution which was accepted by all.

Broker reaction

The broker and client were delighted that our manager had accepted the obligation which had led to a speedy resolution. We were told:

 ... you have an insured who respects you more than anyone in the market … you told him you would get back to him in a week, you did with a thoughtful analysis … and he remembers you sticking to your word. 

Conclusion

We will respond to any call – we know that a speedy resolution is always preferable to a long-drawn out process, and we are committed to delivering an excellent service.
