insurethebox offers a new approach to car insurance. A telematics device, known as a Clear Box, is fitted to your car and it measures how you drive and how far you drive, which determines the amount of insurance you pay.
Ideal for younger drivers
Most car insurers base insurance premiums on a number of factors which are used to predict driving behaviour. Younger drivers typically generate a higher number of claims than those with more experience, so the insurance premiums tend to be higher. By having a Clear Box fitted, a younger driver is able to have his or her insurance premiums based on actual driving ability and mileage rather than on the collective evidence.
Saves money for low mileage drivers
With insurethebox, the lower the mileage you use, the lower the insurance premium. Initially you buy 6,000 miles of cover and the Clear Box monitors exactly how many miles you have driven. Should you need additional miles you can buy top-ups. If you buy more miles than you need in your first year you can roll them over to the following year.
Earn additional miles
The Clear box feeds information about how you are driving to your insurethebox online account. In this way you can assess your driving performance and earn bonus miles by improving your driving.
